What is LinkedIn Local?
LinkedIn Local™ events are organic meetups, hosted by members all over the world. They provide an opportunity to network, build community, discuss industry trends, and share best practices for using LinkedIn.
The LinkedIn Local program is here to strengthen your existing connections, while helping you build new ones. To support this pursuit, LinkedIn provides a limited license to members – allowing the use of the LinkedIn Local trademark in connection with these events. See the LinkedIn Local™ License Terms for more details.
Get started.

Did you know?
LinkedIn Local events are not officially hosted or sponsored by LinkedIn. Instead, these meetups are organized by members and are encouraged and supported by LinkedIn.
Create your event.
All events must be titled in the following way: LinkedIn Local – [location]. The bracketed “location” variable should be replaced with the name of the geographic area where the event will be held. For example, “LinkedIn Local – London” or “LinkedIn Local – San Francisco.”
These references to location will help potential attendees find your event, while filling your event with people who are from the local area.
Tip
Create more visibility for your event by registering a domain. Just follow the naming convention defined in the LinkedIn Local License Terms.
Host your event.
An event is a live, single-day, in-person experience, bringing together LinkedIn members from a specific local area.
There are many ways to customize your event. You can charge a reasonable attendance fee and utilize third-party event-planning sites to register attendees.
For specific details about allowable content, have a look at the LinkedIn Local License Terms.

Be clear.
Make sure others know that you are the host, and that LinkedIn is not responsible for event activities.
Spread the word.
LinkedIn has designated a specific hashtag for LinkedIn Local events that can be used across all channels: #LinkedInLocal. You may also use a geo-specific hashtag for your event, like #LinkedInLocalSF.
Hosts are encouraged to use the hashtags, invite connections, and share events with their networks to get more people interested in attending.

LinkedIn Local™ License Terms
The LinkedIn Local™ program provides you with an opportunity to host live, in-person networking events in your local area. By organizing, marketing, or hosting a LinkedIn Local™ event (an “Event”), you agree that you have read, understood, and at all times will comply with the following rules, terms, and conditions (the “Terms”).
Rules for your event(s)
1. Naming, Branding, and Marketing Your Event
• All Events must be titled in the following way: LinkedIn Local – [location]. The bracketed “location” variable should be replaced with the name of the geographic area where the Event will be held. For example, “LinkedIn Local – London” or “LinkedIn Local – San Francisco.”
• You are permitted to register a domain for your Event as long as it complies with the naming convention mentioned above. For example, www.linkedinlocal-sanfrancisco.com or www.linkedinlocalsanfrancisco.com. You may also create social media accounts and social media pages (such as on LinkedIn or Facebook, etc.) for your Event using the same naming conventions. In either case, however, you must cease all use of the domain name or social media account and cancel or otherwise relinquish your domain-name registration or account once the license terminates.
• LinkedIn has designated a specific hashtag for Events that can be used across all channels: #LinkedInLocal. You may also use a geo-specific hashtag for your Event, like #LinkedInLocalSF.
• The Events can’t be combined with other events, and LinkedIn doesn’t allow Events to be co-branded. If you have Event sponsors, their logos must be displayed in a way that doesn’t imply co-branding or association with LinkedIn.
• Although LinkedIn authorizes you to use the LinkedIn Local™ trademark if you comply with these Terms, you are solely responsible for your Events and you may not state or imply that you are sponsored by, employed by, affiliated with, or a partner of LinkedIn. That means you must be clear that you – not LinkedIn – are the organizer and that LinkedIn is not responsible for Event activities.
• You must include in all written materials promoting your Event the following notice and disclaimer: “LinkedIn Local™ is a trademark of LinkedIn Corporation and is used under license. However, this event is not sponsored or operated by LinkedIn.”
• You can only use the “LinkedIn Local™” trademark and Logos if you comply with the terms of the license below.
• You do not have exclusive rights to host Events in any geographic location. That means someone else (or LinkedIn) can host an Event in the same area that you have and they can even use the same Event title.
2. Quality, Subject Matter, Organization, and Content of Your Event
• All Events must support the goals of the LinkedIn Local™ program: to strengthen existing connections and to build new ones.
• An Event is a live, single-day, in-person event, targeting LinkedIn members from a particular geographic area.
• To achieve the goals of the LinkedIn Local™ program, you may include content as part of the Event, such as speakers, panels, profile photo booths, and the like.
• You may also charge a reasonable attendance fee and utilize third-party event-planning sites to register attendees.
You agree that the Event will be of high quality and that its content will not:
• Violate applicable law (including privacy laws).
• Operate without necessary permits and licenses (including those required to provide or sell food or alcohol).
• Violate or infringe upon the rights of any third party.
• Be defamatory or disparaging.
• Include any pornographic, obscene, profane, or offensive content.
• Include content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, violent, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate.
• Include content that encourages conduct that is unsafe or that could harm others, or that could give rise to criminal or civil liability.
• Include any content that is inconsistent with the goals and values of the LinkedIn Local™ program.
• Contain any other content that would harm LinkedIn or the LinkedIn Local™ mark, or bring LinkedIn or the LinkedIn Local™ mark into disrepute.
If you fail to abide by these Terms, LinkedIn reserves its right to terminate this license and to take any other action it deems necessary to protect its LinkedIn Local™ mark and Logos, including, without limitation, terminating your LinkedIn account.
License and Resources You Can Use Subject to These Terms
On this site, you’ll find a zip file with the LinkedIn Local™ logos (the “Logos”). You acknowledge that LinkedIn owns the LinkedIn Local™ mark and the Logos. LinkedIn grants you a limited, nonexclusive, royalty-free, revocable license to use the LinkedIn Local™ mark and the Logos, in unaltered form, solely in connection with the Event and related Event marketing materials for one year beginning on the day you first announce or otherwise publicize the Event (for example, by email or in a social media post). LinkedIn may, at its sole discretion, extend this deadline, provided that your use of the LinkedIn Local™ mark and Logos complies at all times with these Terms. All use by you of the LinkedIn Local™ mark and the Logos inures to the benefit of LinkedIn. You understand and agree that LinkedIn may terminate this license or your right to use the LinkedIn Local™ mark and the Logos at any time by providing notice to you, and you agree to immediately stop all use of the LinkedIn Local™ mark and the Logos upon receipt of such notice. You may not use any other LinkedIn trademarks or logos in connection with the Event. Except as expressly provided above in this paragraph, LinkedIn grants no other licenses. You will not use any trademarks of LinkedIn except as expressly licensed above.
Trademark Use Requirements
• No modification: The LinkedIn Local™ mark and the Logos must be used as provided by LinkedIn with no modifications. Don’t remove, distort, or alter any element of the LinkedIn Local™ mark or the Logos, including changing any colors. Do not shorten, abbreviate, or create acronyms out of the LinkedIn Local™ mark or the Logos.
• No confusingly similar marks: Don’t use the LinkedIn Local™ mark or the Logos in a manner that might create potential confusion as to the owner of the LinkedIn Local™ mark or the Logos, or imply that LinkedIn is the source of your products or services.
• No incorporation: Don’t incorporate the LinkedIn Local™ mark or the Logos into your own product name, service names, trademarks, logos, company names, website title, publication title, application icon, favicon, or the like.
• No generic use: Don’t use the LinkedIn Local™ mark or the Logos in a way that suggests a common, descriptive, or generic meaning.
• No plural or possessive use: Never use the LinkedIn Local™ mark in the plural or possessive form.
Additional Terms and Conditions
LinkedIn reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time without notice, and you agree to comply with the most recent version of these Terms.
LinkedIn reserves the right to modify or terminate the LinkedIn Local™ program at any time without notice or liability to you.
LinkedIn may terminate your right to host Events, and to exercise any of the rights granted hereunder, at any time, for any reason, as LinkedIn at its sole discretion shall determine. Upon the earlier expiration of the license term or receipt of notice of termination, you shall immediately cease any further participation in this program, including hosting Events, using the LinkedIn Local™ mark and the Logos, and exercising any of the rights granted herein.
You understand and agree that you are solely liable for any Events that you host. You shall maintain reasonable insurance against loss or damage, of such types and in such amounts that are reasonable given the Events you host.
